These days we rely so much on our cars that it almost seems as if they are part of the family. So why shouldn't we record their "family trees" as well? Here's a project that the whole family can work on together.
Make a list of all the cars your family has owned. It will probably be easier to start with the current ones and work backwards. Record as much information as you can remember, such as make and model, when you bought and sold each car, color, approximate cost, any accidents or memorable breakdowns, trips you may have taken in the car, and so on.
Look for "family traits," such as a preference for a particular make, style (i.e., station wagon) or color.
If you have old magazines around, maybe you can clip pictures from ads, or maybe even find photos of older cars in boxes of family snapshots.
The price of gasoline seems to keep going up. It is nice to look back on those cheaper gas prices as well.
