DUCK RACE/ ADOPT A DUCK

Race Logistics
When is it?	, August 15, 2010 Event starts at 2:00 P.M. Celebrity Duck Race Main duck race with starts at 3:00 We will award the prizes immediately after the race.
Where is it?	Westlake Rec Center Located at the pond/ silent auction inside Rec. Center
Does it cost anything to attend?	Attending the race is free
Where do people park?	There is plenty of free parking at the Westlake Rec. Center
Who Benefits?	The Westlake Historical Society uses the money raised for programming, scholarship funds, and the upkeep of our museums.
The Ducks
Are they real ducks?	No, they are special rubber ducks designed for racing.
How does it work?	We will drop rubber ducks into the pond. They will drift to the other side. We will capture them in a prize picking net.
What happens to the ducks afterwards?	We catch all the ones we launch and return them.


What can I expect at the race?	It will be a family-friendly fun event . There will be a celebrity duck race before the big race. The Historical Society will have a silent auction in a room adjacent to the race course.


Duck Adoptions
Can I adopt more than one duck?	Yes click on the duck below and you will be given the opportunity to purchase multiple ducks on the next page.
How do they work?	Each adoption paper has a unique number. This is assigned randomly to a duck that is racing. You can adopt ducks by adopting online or from any Westlake Historical Society member.
How do I adopt online?	Just click below. You will be sent your duck adoption form with your ducks number.
